TOP käytäntöön pantavat asiat:

  • LE kokonaisvaltaisemmaksi, tapahtuma alkaa lentomatkasta Suomeen, should provide information from the very beginning. Good tutorial about the basic facts you should know about Finland, how to get to Jyväskylä, what kind of things to bring, what else is here to see.
  • When making an offer, you should put more effort into it. Do your research properly, provide couple good option, all of which have wellt-thought perusteluja why they would be the best ones to choose. Venues, programs, schedules etc. Also the presentation, offer can also include things for all the senses. Think videos, smells, textures, visuals. Make it as concrete as possible, so if you are offering an eventplanning for company get-together, make the deciders see themselves sitting in the venue of your choosing, relaxing over a drink.
  • Think everything through from the clients point of view. What might be possible problemparts? What information would you like to receive beforehand so that you would feel comfortable?

Wonderful book to read, just love it! Must read her first book as well, which apparentely is even more focused on the event planning itself, where this book takes you through the steps of making a business out of it and what kind of things you should consider with different steps. (the preparation for the sale, the sale, the execution, the post-event marketing) You can sense the huge amount of work that her company puts into just making the offer for their clients. In that stage I’m guessing her clients are such bigs companies you really don’t compete with price anymore, it’s more about the quality of the service and the attention to details that has helped her to be so successful. This should be every eventplanners must-read book, so many small points come to mind when you read it with a certain event in mind. AKA when you have something concrete to mirror the examples and points with. So this is actually one of the first books I would consider buying and using as an ongoing reflecting flat for different events.

She has some good points about how you should remember also to consider the client very throughly. Think if the event your offering showcases their values and brand. Is the venue, program, theme, performers, menu etc up to their standards and also will they be within the brand your client wants to build? There have been some events that have really upgraded company’s brand, when the theme has successfully coupled a good charity cause and the company, but then there have been some truly harmful failures, when the performers have been questionable or there has been something else in the whole that has been overlooked. It’s also good to deliver the exact proposal your client is asking, but it propaply would be nice, at least in the field of event planning, to make a proposal with something extra added to it, that the client may have not even considered. Small things are the key element to a successful, and memorable, event. The things that say: we have considered your needs, we appreciate you’re being here, we will do everything we can to have you enjoy this event.
